ABOUT THE EVENT
The International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) World Congress of Sports Medicine, FIMS 2024 is home to four Continental Sports Medicine Associations and 120 National Sports Medicine Associations worldwide, uniting sports medicine physicians from 120 different countries.
FIMS is an organization recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since 1952, established in 1928 by physicians from eleven countries and originally named “Association International Médico-Sportive” (AIMS). That same year, in August, the first International Congress took place in Amsterdam during the 9th Summer Olympic Games.
Since then, FIMS furthers its objectives through courses, international events, and its major biannual event, the “World Congress of Sports Medicine” which, in its International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) World Congress of Sports Medicine will be hosted in Dubai, United Arab Emirates 2024.
The main purpose of FIMS is to Foster the study and development of sports medicine throughout the world, protect physical and mental health, and ensure the well-being of all those playing sports and exercising; as well as to help athletes achieve an optimum performance, maximizing their genetic potential, health, nutrition, as well as to guarantee access to high-quality healthcare and training.
